Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 02/20/2013
 
   Receipts:  628     Last Week:  264     Year Ago:  773
 
   Compared to last test two weeks ago:  Steer and heifer calves not
well tested but few sales near steady.  Overall quality of offerings 
plain to average. Receipts reduced due to much needed snow and rain. 
Demand moderate to good despite the weather.  Heifers made up 44
percent of offerings and cattle over 600 lbs comprised 16 percent 
of supply.
   Slaughter cows and bulls not fully established but stronger 
undertone noted.  Packer demand good but country buyers also making
a very strong presence. Total of 132 cows and bulls sold with 38 
percent going to packers.
