Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 05/03/12
Receipts: 2,091 Last Week: N/A Last Year: 964
Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder and stocker steers lightly tested
however a higher undertone was noted. Feeder and stocker heifers sold 2.00 to
5.00 higher on limited comparable sales. Feeding cows sold steady to 2.00
higher. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm. Slaughter bulls sold steady to
3.00 higher in a light test. Demand good for all classes. Approximately, 35
percent feeder and stocker cattle; 8 percent feeding cows; 15 percent pairs;
32 percent slaughter cows; 1 percent slaughter bulls with the balance bred
cows and misc. cattle. In the feeder supply, steers made up 13 percent of the
run; heifers 87 percent; steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled 74 percent.
All bred stock sold by the head and pairs sold per pair, unless otherwise
stated. All bred cows and heifers represented to calve before May 15th,
unless otherwise stated.
