Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:55 pm



Today’s Reported Sales Volume:  15,000     

Today’s Estimated Sales Volume: 28,000        

     

  Trading was moderate in the Texas Panhandle and Kansas on good demand 

Wednesday afternoon.  Compared to last week, live sales were 4.00 higher in

the Texas Panhandle and 3.00 to 4.00 higher in Kansas at 158.00. Prices are

once again surpassing record levels in all regions which were previously set

last week. Trading is light in Nebraska on good demand with a few early dressed

sales mostly 5.00 higher than last week at 250.00, few early at 249.00. Several

sellers in Nebraska continue to pass.  Trading is light to moderate in Iowa

with early live sales at 158.00, and dressed sales at 246.00-248.00.

   Cattle slaughter for Wednesday was estimated at 116,000. Boxed beef cutout

closing values were called weak on Choice and firm on Select on light to

moderate demand and offerings. Choice closed down 0.47 at 247.66, and Select

closed up 0.62 at 240.12 on 158 total loads.

and again on the National Daily Direct Slaughter Cattle Formula Purchases

Reports as net prices.



Included in this report are negotiated cash and negotiated grid prices

and volume collected from feedlots or their representatives cooperating

on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and

more frequently during active trading periods.
