Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:50 pm



Today’s Reported Sales Volume:  23,000

Today’s Estimated Sales Volume: 27,000

     

  Trading was moderate to active in Kansas Wednesday afternoon on moderate

to good demand. Compared to last week, live sales were mostly 1.00 lower at

155.00, with several cattle later trading steady with last week at 156.00 for

two week delivery. Trading is light to moderate Nebraska on moderate to good

demand. Compared to last week, early live sales mostly steady at 155.00-156.00.

The dressed trade is not yet established. Trading is mostly inactive in all

other regions with light to moderate buyer inquiry.

  Cattle slaughter for Wednesday is estimated at 116,000. Boxed beef closing 

cutout values were called firm on Choice and weak on Select on light to moderate

demand and offerings. Choice closed up 0.29 at 250.82, and Select closed down

-0.60 at 242.86 on 190 total loads.

and volume collected from feedlots or their representatives cooperating

on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and

more frequently during active trading periods.
