Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 9:30 am



Recap for Wednesday, July 16th, 2014:



Wednesday’s Reported Sales Volume:  38,000

Wednesday’s Estimated Sales Volume: 65,000

     

  Trading was active in Kansas Wednesday afternoon on moderate to good demand.

Compared to last week, live sales were steady to 1.00 lower at 155.00-156.00

(156.00 were mostly 2 week delivery). Trading was moderate to active in Nebraska

on moderate to good demand. Compared to last week, live sales were steady to

firm at 155.00-157.50. Dressed sales were steady to 1.00 lower at 246.00-248.00,

with several sellers still passing. 

  Cattle slaughter for Wednesday was estimated at 116,000. Boxed beef Wednesday

closing cutout values were called firm on Choice and weak on Select on light

to moderate demand and offerings. Choice closed up 0.29 at 250.82, and Select

closed down -0.60 at 242.86 on 190 total loads.

and volume collected from feedlots or their representatives cooperating

on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and

more frequently during active trading periods.
