Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:50 pm

Today’s Estimated Sales Volume:  4,500 





On Wednesday negotiated cash trade was mostly inactive on light to moderate 

demand in all feeding regions however, Mandatory Price Reporting showed 4,379 

head of live sales at 164.00 in Nebraska. Wednesday afternoon boxed beef cutout 

values were lower on light to moderate demand and moderate offerings. Choice was 

down 1.30 at 261.97 with Select down .98 to close at 255.77 on 209 loads. The 

hide and offal value from a typical slaughter steer for today was estimated at 

16.33 per cwt live, down -0.11 when compared to Tuesday's value. The estimated 

cattle slaughter for Wednesday was reported at 115,000. August CME live cattle 

contracts were up .10 to settle at 158.55 with October up .30 to settle at 

155.95.

and volume collected from feedlots or their representatives cooperating

on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and

more frequently during active trading periods.
