Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 2:30 pm



Today’s Reported Sales Volume:    2,000 

Today’s Estimated Sales Volume:   6,000 

  

  Trading is limited in Western Nebraska and Colorado Friday afternoon with

a light test of live sales at 155.00. Trading remains inactive in all other

regions. For the week, MPR has reported around 1,500 head in the Texas Panhandle

at mostly 152.00; Kansas has traded 14,000 head at mostly 152.00-153.00; 

Nebraska is showing almost 20,000 for the week with live sales ranging from

152.00-155.00, and dressed sales at 241.00 to mostly 242.00; Colorado has

traded around 2,500 head at 154.00-155.00; Iowa-Minnesota has shown over

39,000 head for the week with live sales at 152.00-154.00, mostly 153.00,

and dressed sales at 241.00-243.00.

  Cattle slaughter for Friday is estimated at 115,000, with 21,000 for

Saturday, for a weekly total of 590,000.

Daily Direct Slaughter Cattle Negotiated Purchases Reports as base prices

and again on the National Daily Direct Slaughter Cattle Formula Purchases

Reports as net prices.



Included in this report are negotiated cash and negotiated grid prices

and volume collected from feedlots or their representatives cooperating

on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and

more frequently during active trading periods.
