Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:30 pm

On Wednesday negotiated cash trade was inactive on light demand in all feeding 

regions. Wednesday afternoon boxed beef cutout values were higher on Choice and 

steady on Select on light to moderate demand and offerings. Choice was 1.47 

higher at 247.58 with Select .11 higher to close at 233.94 on 266 loads. The 

hide and offal value from a typical slaughter steer for today was estimated at 

16.58 per cwt live, down -0.03 when compared to Tuesday's value. The estimated 

cattle slaughter for Wednesday was reported at 118,000. October CME live cattle 

contracts were up 3.00 to settle at 155.42.

on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and

more frequently during active trading periods.
