Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:10 pm



Today's Reported Sales Volume:   6,000     

Today's Estimated Sales Volume: 11,000  

  

  Trading is moderate to active in the Texas Panhandle and Kansas on good

demand for the very limited number of available cash supplies.  Compared to

last week, live sales are 6.00 higher at 170.00.  Trading is light to moderate

in Nebraska on good demand. Compared to last week, early live sales are 6.00

higher in Nebraska, and 5.00 to 5.50 higher in Colorado at 170.00. Several

sellers continue to pass current bids and the dressed trade has not yet been

established. The 170.00 price level will set new records in all regions.

Trading remains slow in Iowa.

  Cattle slaughter for Thursday is estimated at 108,000. Closing Boxed Beef cut-

out values were called lower on moderate demand and heavy offerings. Choice

was down -1.57 at 249.43, and Select was down -1.53 at 233.54 on 221 total

loads.

Reports as net prices.



Included in this report are negotiated cash and negotiated grid prices

and volume collected from feedlots or their representatives cooperating

on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and

more frequently during active trading periods.
