Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 500 lbs unevenly steady on comparable
sales, a lower undertone on 300-400 lbs, over 500 lbs 3.00-6.00 higher. Heifers
mostly 1.00-3.00 higher except 300-400 lbs steady. Slaughter cows and bulls steady.
Trade active, demand good. Bulk supply Medium and Large 1-2 300-800 lb feeder steers
and heifers. Slaughter cows 6 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent,
bred cows 4 percent, pairs 1 percent; feeders 87 percent. In the feeder supply,
steers made up approximately 55 percent of the run; heifers 45 percent; feeder steers
and heifers over 600 lbs total 57 percent.
