Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 02/20/2013
Receipts: 4346 Last Week: 3839 Year Ago: 9216
Compared to the last week: Feeder steers steady with improved demand
over last weeks lower market. Feeder heifers 3.00-5.00 lower. Steer
calves 2.00-4.00 higher. Heifer calves 1.00-2.00 higher. Demand remains
good for calves and dual purpose type cattle that could either go directly
to the feedyard or return to pastures. Wheat fields and pastures are
reaping the benefits of recent weather systems that provided some much
needed moisture. Quality was moderate to mostly attractive. Supply
included 82 percent over 600 lbs; 41 percent heifers.
