Georgia Cattle Auctions Daily Summary
Georgia Livestock Auctions that were held Wednesday Jan 16, 2013

   Cattle auctions at Ashburn (895), Athens (419), Donalsonville (590), 
Jackson (262), Moultrie (535), and Washington (364). Receipts Wednesday 
3,065 week ago 3,438 and year ago 3,907. Compared to one week earlier, 
slaughter cows steady to 3.00 higher, bulls unevenly steady, feeder
steers and heifers steady to 3.00 lower, steer calves and heifer
calves unevenly steady to 3.00 lower, replacement cows steady to 2.00
higher.

Slaughter cows 13 percent, slaughter bulls 2 percent and feeders 85 
percent. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 51 percent 
of the run, heifers 41 percent and replacement cows 8 percent, steers 
and heifers over 600 lbs totaled around 14 percent.
