Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 01/16/2013

   Compared to last week, grass type steers and heifers sold unevenly 
steady. Steers weighing over 700 lbs sold 5.00-8.00 lower, instances 
10.00 lower on 600-650 lbs. Heifers weighing over 600 lbs sold 2.00-6.00 
lower. Demand was mostly light to moderate after the sharp decline on the 
CME cattle boards today. Buyers procuring steers were more selective on 
condition/flesh than heifer buyers.  Steers were 57 percent of the run, 
42 percent heifers and balance on bull calves. Near 81 percent weighed 
over 600 lbs. Next feeder sale will be Jan 23, expecting 4500 head.
