Receipts: 710 Last Tuesday: 635 Year Ago: 1,234
Compared to Monday, steer calves under 500 lbs sold steady with
good demand, over 500 lbs sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower with light demand.
Heifer calves sold steady with light to moderate demand. Yearling
steers and heifers lightly tested. Slaughter cows sold steady and
slaughter bulls sold 1.00 higher with good demand. Snowstorms out west
reduced cattle movement there. Some reports of trucks stranded trying
to reach western feedlots earlier this week. Weather, higher corn
and gas prices combined with federal sequestration issues creating
uncertainty in the marketplace this week.
Total supply included 05% slaughter cows, 01% slaughter bulls,
less 01% replacements and 94% feeders. Feeder supply 40% steers,
21% bulls, 39% heifers with 64% of feeders weighing over 600 lbs.

400 lbs few 185.00-201.00; 400-500 lbs few 166.00-169.00 few fancy
