Pratt Livestock Feeder Cattle Auction, Pratt, KS Close for 2/23/2013

Compared to last week:  Steers 750-900 lbs 5.00- 8.00 higher, however weighing 
conditions in favor of the buyer, as cattle had extra days and went through a 
major snow storm.  Steers 750 lbs and under not enough for market test.  Heifers 
not enough for a market, steady undertone noted.  Slaughter Cows and Bulls not 
enough for market test.  Trade light and demand moderate for weighted classes 
for cattle.  Feeder supply 88 percent steers and 12 percent heifers with 98 
percent 600 lbs and over.

   Steers:  Medium and Large 1  550-600 lbs 164.50-165.00 (164.73); 55 head 665 
lbs 147.85; 60 head 745 lbs 143.25; 750-800 lbs 138.25-142.75 (142.21); 800-850 
lbs 138.85-139.75 (139.34); 850-900 lbs 135.85-138.60 (137.62); 60 head 905 lbs 
136.10; 91 head 950-1000 lbs 130.25; 1000-1050 lbs 126.60-128.25 (126.98).
Medium and Large 1-2  4 head 877 lbs 132.50.

   Heifers:  Medium and Large 1  63 head 795 lbs 129.25; 850-900 lbs 123.75-
127.10 (126.41).
