Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/07/12
Receipts: 1,419 Last Week: 2,140 Year Ago: 2,270
Compared to last week: Feeder and stocker steers sold 2.00 to 6.00 lower on
limited comparable sales. Feeder and stocker heifers sold steady to 2.00 lower on
limited comparable sales. Feeding cows not well tested. Slaughter cows and bulls
lightly tested however a steady to lower undertone noted. Weigh-up average to full
with quality lacking when compared to last week. Demand moderate to good.
Approximately, 63 percent feeder and stocker cattle; 6 percent feeding cows; 25
percent slaughter cows with the balance slaughter bulls and misc. cattle. In the
feeder supply, steers made up 52 percent of the run; heifers 48 percent; steers and
heifers over 600 lbs totaled 37 percent. All bred stock sold by the head and pairs
sold per pair, unless otherwise stated. All bred cows represented to calve before
May 15th, unless otherwise stated.
