Morning National Slaughter Cattle Review for Thursday, 7/17/14



On Thursday negotiated cash trade was mostly inactive on light demand In the Southern 

Plains. Few live sales traded at 155.00 on Wednesday in the Texas Panhandle however 

not enough sales for an adequate market test. The latest established market was last 

week with live sales from 155.00-156.00. On Wednesday live sales sold from 155.00-

156.00 in Kansas. Trade was light to moderate on good demand in Nebraska and the 

Western Cornbelt. In Nebraska live sales sold mostly steady compared to the bulk of 

Wednesday's sales at 156.00 with dressed sales steady to firm from 246.00-248.00. In 

the Western Cornbelt compared to Wednesday, live sales were mostly steady from 

155.00-156.00 with dressed sales steady to firm from 246.00-247.00. In Colorado trade 

was light on good demand with live sales steady to firm at 157.50 compared to 

Wednesday.
