Morning National Slaughter Cattle Review for Friday, 8/22/2014



On Friday in the Southern Plains trading was mostly inactive on very light demand. 

The last reported market was on Thursday in the Texas Panhandle with live sales at 

152.00. In Kansas live sales sold from 152.00 to mostly 153.00 on Thursday. For 

Friday in Nebraska trading was limited on light demand. A few live sales sold from

155.00 to 155.50 and a few dressed sales sold at 242.00. Not enough for full market

trend. The last fully reported market was last week with live sales from 154.00 to 

156.00 and dressed sales from 244.00 to 245.00. In Colorado on Friday Trading was

slow to moderate on light demand. Compared to the prior week live sales sold 2.00 to 

3.00 lower from 154.00-155.00. On Friday in the Western Cornbelt trading was limited

on very light demand. Not enough sales for a market trend. The last reported market

was on Thursday with live and dressed sales at 153.00 and 242.00, respectively.
