Afternoon National Slaughter Cattle Review as of 2:00 pm Friday
Thus far for Friday, negotiated cash trade was light on light to moderate demand in
the Southern Plains. Few live sales traded at 122.00 in the Texas Panhandle with a
few sales at 122.50 in Kansas. Not enough sales in these regions for an adequate
market test. For the week, in the Southern Plains the bulk of live sales traded at
122.00. In the Northern Plains and Western Cornbelt trade was mostly inactive on
light demand on Friday. The latest established market in Nebraska was on Wednesday
with live sales from 122.00-123.50 with the bulk of dressed sales from 194.00-195. In
Colorado on Wednesday live sales traded at 122.00. The latest established market in
the Western Cornbelt was on Thursday with live sales from 122.00-124.00 with dressed
sales from 196.00-200.00.
