   Boxed beef cutout values higher to sharply higher on moderate to 
fairly good demand and light to moderate offerings. Select and 
Choice rib, chuck, round and loin cuts firm to higher. Beef trimmings 
higher on light to moderate demand and offerings.

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 2.12 at 196.17; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
UP 1.74 at 174.67; based on 75.74 loads of Choice cuts, 59.45 
loads of Select cuts, 16.14 loads of Trimmings, and 37.61
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 1.04 at 185.29; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses UP 0.85
at 164.24.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 121,358 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 161.11
DN 0.52.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.00, DN 0.01.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 148.50 loads of pork cuts and 17.5 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Monday's Close:     Fresh 1/4" trimmed loins
unevenly steady; butts steady; sknd hams 20-27 lbs mostly weak; 
sdls bellies not tested; lean trimmings steady.  Trading moderate to 
active, with moderate demand and mostly offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **84.41 DN 0.01.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 100.00-108.00; Hams bone in trimmed, 
20-23 lbs trim spec 1 77.00-82.00.
