Oklahoma Cattle on Feed down 15 percent

The Oklahoma inventory of cattle on feed for feedlots with capacity of 1,000 or more head, totaled 285 thousand head on October 1, 2013, up 2 percent from the previous month but down 15 percent from the October 1, 2012 level.

Placements during September were 67 thousand head, up 18 percent from a year ago. Marketings of fed cattle during September were 60 thousand head, up 33 percent from 2012. Other disappearance during September totaled 2 thousand head.
