Retail Beef Prices Decline, Ground Beef Up

The USDA released the latest retail meat prices for August on Friday. The report showed retail beef prices declined $0.035 falling to $3.944. Retail Diesel Prices Increase For The First Time In Over A Month

The U.S. average diesel price increased $0.012 to $2.943 per gallon. The largest increase was in the Midwest as prices increased $0.020 to $2.92 per gallon.

Indiana Sow Prices Set New Yearly High

Indiana sow prices climbed $4.50 to $63.00 last month, setting a new yearly high. Indiana sow prices remain well above this year's average price of $50.35.

Wisonsin Milk Prices Climb $1

Wisconsin milk prices increased by $1 last month to $16.20. Prices have increased for four consecutive months and are now $0.73 above this year's average price.

Dairy Product Prices: Butter & Cheese Up, Milk Down

Butter prices received for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Grade AA standards averaged $1.97 per pound for the week ending August 28, 2010. The United States (US) price per pound increased 7.2 cents from the previous week.

Barrow & Gilt Prices By U.S. & State

The U.S. average barrow and gilt price improved by $2.80 to $61.50 this month. Minnesota saw the largest jump in prices, moving $3.80 to $63.40.

Sow Prices By U.S. & State

The average U.S. sow price improved by $4.40 to $58.10, setting a new yearly high.

Beef Cattle Prices By U.S. & State

U.S. average beef cattle prices improved by $1.60 to $93.20 this month, increasing for the 2 month in a row.

Milk Prices By U.S. & State

The U.S. average milk price improved $0.60 to $16.60, increasing for the fourth straight month.

Hog Prices By U.S. & State

U.S. hog prices improved by $2.80 to $61.30, this is the second straight month that prices have increased. Minnesota and Nebraska hog prices posted the largest increases, jumping $3.80 and $3.70 respectively to $63.40 and $63.20.

Corn Prices By U.S. & State

The U.S. average corn price climbed 16 cents to 3.65 per bushel, but still remains well below the 27 month average price of 3.96 per bushel.
