Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 05/16/2012
 
Receipts:  632      Last Week:  634      Year Ago:  787
 
   Compared to last week:  Steer calves under 500 lbs steady; over 
500 lbs 2.00-4.00 higher.  Heifer calves 3.00-5.00 higher.  No recent 
test for comparison on yearling cattle but higher undertone noted.
Demand very good for calves and yearlings.  Overall quality average. 
Most calves in average to slightly fleshy condition.  Fills average to
full.  Farmers continue very busy in the hay fields.  Supply included
37 percent over 600 lbs; 45 percent heifers.
