Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 04/12/12

Receipts:  571    Last Week:  1,020    Last Year:  1,537
 
   Compared to last week:  Feeder and stocker cattle lightly tested.  Feeding 
cows sold steady to 4.00 higher.  Slaughter cows sold mostly steady, few 2.00 
higher on Boners.  Slaughter bulls sold 4.00 to 6.00 higher in a light test.  
Demand moderate to good.  Approximately, 25 percent feeder and stocker cattle; 
13 percent feeding cows; 45 percent slaughter cows; 3 percent slaughter bulls 
with the balance cow/calf pairs and misc. cattle.  In the feeder supply, 
steers/bulls made up 51 percent of the run; heifers 49 percent; steers and 
heifers over 600 lbs totaled 50 percent.  All bred stock sold by the head and 
pairs sold per pair, unless otherwise stated.  All bred cows and heifers 
represented to calve before May 15th, unless otherwise stated.  

   Steers:  Medium and Large 1  645-700 lbs 152.00-157.00.    

   Heifers:  Medium and Large 1  560-570 lbs 164.00-165.00; 614 lbs 161.00.  

   Feeding Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  2-3 yr old 900-1000 lbs 119.00-126.00, 
1000-1100 lbs 109.00-117.50, 1100-1300 lbs 102.25-105.25; Young 1100-1125 lbs 
92.00-96.00; Middle Aged 1420 lbs 83.00.

   Cow/Calf pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2  Broken mouth 1100/50-100 lbs thin 
fleshed 1375.00.
