Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 03/14/13
Receipts: 3,306 Last Week: 2,504 Last Year: 1,202
Compared to last week: Stocker and Feeder cattle sold 1.00 to 3.00 lower.
Feeding cows sold mostly steady. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady, however Boner
cows sold 1.00 to 3.00 lower in a light test. Slaughter bulls sold steady to firm.
Demand moderate to good. Approximately, 54 percent stocker and feeder cattle; 8
percent feeding cows; 3 percent bred cows; 30 percent slaughter cows; 1 slaughter
bulls with the balance misc. cattle. In the feeder supply, steers made up 36 percent
of the run; bulls 1 percent; heifers 63 percent; steers/bulls and heifers over 600
lbs totaled 48 percent. All bred stock sold by the head and pairs sold per pair,
unless otherwise stated. All bred cows and heifers represented to calve before May
15th, unless otherwise stated.
