Cattleman's Livestock Auction - Dalhart, TX - Thursday - 05/24/12

Cattle and Calves: 3800     Week Ago: 1881     Year Ago: 1660

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers and heifers under 600 lbs steady in a 
light test except 500-600 lb heifers 2.00-3.00 lower; over 600 lbs firm to 2.00 
higher.  Slaughter cows and bulls firm to 2.00 higher, instances higher dressing 
lean cows 4.00 higher.  Trade and demand moderate to good.  Bulk supply Medium 
and Large 1-2 350-850 lb feeder steers and heifers.  Slaughter cows made up 13 
percent, slaughter bulls 1 percent, replacement cows 0 percent, and feeders 86 
percent.  The feeder supply included 49 percent steers and 51 percent heifers.  
Near 77 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.

216.00; few 473 lbs 201.00; 500-600 lbs 186.00-189.00, fleshy 174.00-180.00;
