Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 02/06/2013
 
   Receipts:  1381     Last Week:  957     Year Ago:  1257
 
   Compared to last week:  Steer calves steady, heifer calves 2.00-4.00 
lower.  Demand was good for steers, moderate for heifers.  Overall 
quality of offerings plain to average but improved over last week. 
Fills average to full.  Cooler temperatures and damp and foggy 
conditions moved into the trade area last night and persisted through
the day.  Heifers made up 47 percent of calf supply and weights over 
600 lbs made up 12 percent of offerings.
   Slaughter cows steady.  Slaughter bulls 3.00 higher.  Packer 
demand very good.  Stock cow demand also good.  Total of 204 cows and 
bulls sold with 50 percent going to packers.
