Compared to last month: Holstein steers 5.00-7.00 higher on a few comparable
sales.
Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers mostly 4.00-6.00 higher on
comparable sales. Slaughter cows and bulls 2.00-3.00 higher. Trade very active,
demand very good on all classes. Bulk supply Medium and Large 1-2 300-700 lb feeder
steers and heifers. Slaughter cows 11 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3
percent, bred cows 22 percent; pairs 5 percent; feeders 59 percent. In the feeder
supply, steers made up approximately 64 percent of the run; Holstein steers 10
percent: feeder bulls 3 percent; heifers 23 percent; feeder steers and heifers over
600 lbs total 40 percent.
