Trends: According to the Federal-State Market News Service, compared to the
same sale one week ago, prices for Slaughter cows: Firm to 1.00 higher;
Slaughter bulls: Mostly steady to 1.00 lower. Feeder steers/bulls under 500
lbs 10.00 to 16.00 lower; over 500 lbs 6.00 to 11.00 lower. Feeder heifers
under 500 lbs 10.00 to 15.00 lower; over 500 lbs 4.00 to 9.00 lower. Quality
plain to average; few attractive. Limited test on some feeder classes due to
light receipts this week. Demand moderate to good for feeder classes.
Slaughter cows 65; Slaughter bulls 10; Total feeder supply 270; Feeder
steers/bulls 150; Feeder heifers 120; Feeder supply over 600 lbs 44;
Replacement/feeder cows 10.
