SC Farm Report on Monday
National direct slaughter cattle weekly summary. Weighted averages for all
grades, Standard to Prime, mostly Select and Choice. Live FOB steers 1,308
lbs at 119.76, heifers 1,194 lbs at 119.85. Dressed delivered steers 877 lbs
at 193.34, heifers 824 lbs at 192.61. Weekly boxed beef cutout values for
600-900 carcass weights Choice up 4.88 at 190.00 and Select up 3.46 at 186.58.
National direct feeder pigs last week, per head weighted average prices are
delivered to the buyer's farm. Early weaned pigs and all feeder pigs 3.00 to
6.00 per head lower. Demand was moderate for moderate offerings. Feeder pigs 10-
12 lbs cash basis 30.66; 40 lbs cash basis 59.44.
Hogs on Friday. Plant delivered weighted average. National direct Barrows &
Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs 61.02, down 0.87. Sows live price 300-450
lbs 47.18, 450-500 lbs 54.42, 500-550 lbs 57.25.
SC Grain on Monday. Corn was 6 to 7 cents higher, processor bids 6.80-7.40.
Soybeans were 7 to 9 cents higher, elevator bids 14.63-14.93, processor bid
15.28. Wheat was steady to 7 cents higher, processor bids 6.60-7.10.
Cotton on Monday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 82.65, down
1.83.
