Valentine, NE - Valentine Livestock Auction
Replacement cattle Report for 06/13/2013
Receipts: 1360 Last Week: 1340 Year Ago: 0
The sale consisted of native Sandhills cow/calf pairs, fall bred cows
and a heavy supply of slaughter cows and bulls. Several ranchers continue
to cut their herd size due to the short grass in the area and very
limited supply of feed on hand. Most of the pairs were “young” with nice
big calves at side. Fall cows start calving the end of July and first of
August. Most cows displayed light to medium flesh. Demand was light to
moderate on the pairs and moderate for fall bred cows. Supply included 25
percent replacement cattle, balance on slaughter cattle. Next week, June
20th Special Feeder Cattle Auction.
