Montana Weekly Cattle Auction Summary
Receipts: 6,422 Last Week: 10,376 Last Year: 5,908
Compared to last week: Feeder and stocker steers under 500 lbs sold 5.00 to
10.00 lower; offerings over 500 lbs sold steady to 2.00 lower. Feeder and
stocker heifers sold steady to 4.00 lower. Feeding cows sold steady to weak in
a light test. Slaughter cows sold unevenly steady. Slaughter bulls sold 2.00
to 5.00 higher in a light test. Demand moderate to good. Approximately, 83
percent feeder and stocker cattle; 2 percent feeding cows; 10 percent slaughter
cows with the balance slaughter bulls and misc. cattle. In the feeder supply,
steers made up 48 percent of the run; bulls 1 percent; heifers 51 percent;
steers/bulls and heifers over 600 lbs totaled 43 percent. All bred stock sold
by the head and pairs sold per pair, unless otherwise stated. All bred cows
represented to calve before May 15th, unless otherwise stated.
