Illinois Grain Prices in Country Elevators
This is Monday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the USDA
and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Monday afternoon, with corn and
wheat higher and soybeans lower. Export interest and export sales supported
corn futures. Today the USDA announced the sale of 120,000 tonnes of US
corn to an unknown destination. The USDA's Weekly Crop Progress reported
Illinois farmers have now completed 59% of the states corn planting,
compared to 41% last week and 10% last year.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids 7 to 10 cents higher at 6.06-6.17. Soybean bids traded 9 to 10 cents
lower at 14.12-14.20.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 10
to 11 cents higher at 6.16-6.32. Soybean bids were 8 to 10 cents lower at
14.13-14.26.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 10 cents higher
at 6.24-6.45. Soybean bids were 8 to 10 cents lower at 14.23-14.45. Wheat
bids were 7 to 10 cents higher at 6.10-6.25.
