Illinois Grain Prices in Country Elevators
This is Monday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the USDA
and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Illinois country grain prices were higher on Monday afternoon. Another
export sale to China and stronger soybean meal prices helped to lift soybean
futures. Monday morning the USDA announced the sale of 220,000 metric tonnes
of US soybeans to China. In the USDA's Crop Progress Report, Illinois
farmers have now planted 79% of the states corn crop and 13% of the soybean
acres.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids mixed at 6.39-6.62. Soybean bids traded 3 to 5 cents higher at
14.70-14.93.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were
9 to 10 cents higher at 6.46-6.59. Soybean bids were 8 to 12 cents higher
at 14.83-14.97.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were mostly 5 to 8
cents higher at 6.57-6.70. Soybean bids were 5 to 10 cents higher at
14.90-15.07. Wheat bids were mostly 5 to 6 cents higher at 6.33-6.48.
