Illinois Grain Prices in Country Elevators
This is Monday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the
USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Monday afternoon, with
wheat higher and corn and soybeans lower. Many traders evened positions
as Tuesday morning the USDA will release an updated Supply Demand
forecast and new estimates for the South American corn and soybean
crops. Last week, Illinois farmers took advantage of the dry spring
conditions and planted corn. According to the Illinois Weather and Crop
update, Illinois farmers now have 17% of the Illinois corn crop
planted, compared to 5% last week.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled
corn bids 9 cents lower at 6.29-6.39. Soybean bids traded steady to 3
cents lower at 14.01-14.20.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids
were 7 to 9 cents lower at 6.42-6.59. Soybean bids were 3 to 4 cents
lower at 14.07-14.20.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 7 to 9 cents
lower at 6.45-6.71. Soybean bids were 2 to 3 cents lower at
14.17-14.32. Wheat bids were 3 to 4 cents higher at 6.20-6.43.
