The USDA Stocks Report sparked a sharply higher near limit up corn and
soybean market as wheat had modest gains on the day. The stocks report had
lower production domestically and global supplies as well, with corn falling to
the second tightest level on record. USDa reduced the 2010 corn crop to 12.45
billion bushel from its December estimates, while soybean production was trimmed
from 3.37 bb to 3.33 bb. Further shrinkage could result if dry conditions in
Argentina continue. Wheat closed mostly 10-15 cents higher. Corn traded 21-24
cents higher. Soybeans closed 54-58 cents higher.
