California Hay Report

Compared to last week:  Prices were mostly steady on moderate trading
activity and moderate buyer demand.  According to the California Crop Progress
Report, a low pressure system early in the week pushed a weak cold front across
the State and brought some showers to the Northern and Central coasts as well as
the northern mountains, but warmer temperatures returned to the Northern and
Central regions of the state by Wednesday.  However, cooler weather and moisture
are forecasted throughout the Imperial Valley for the rest of this week and into
the weekend which has delayed the valley’s final cutting before winter.  All
prices reported FOB at the stack or barn unless otherwise noted. Regions are
defined at bottom of report.
