OKLAHOMA HAY MARKET REPORT
New crop alfalfa trade mostly moderate this week on light to moderate supplies
and good demand. Demand for dairy quality hay especially good. Yields continue
to be well below average in most areas. Some north central and western counties
reporting extremely light yields. Quality continues very good in most areas.
Wheat hay continues being baled and yields are highly variable. Demand very
good for wheat hay. In eastern counties early mixed grass hay being baled this
week and yields are about average from early reports. Rain is forecast for the
weekend and producers desperately need the moisture. Hay meadows, rangeland and
pastures all in poor to fair condition. Livestock water also short over much of

Alfalfa Central Oklahoma:
Supreme quality new crop out of the field 250.00-260.00. Premium quality new
crop in the field 235.00-250.00, mostly 240.00-245.00. Good quality old crop
Alfalfa Eastern Oklahoma: Premium quality new crop in the field 240.00-250.00.
Small square bales 10.00-12.00 per bale.
Western Oklahoma: Premium quality new crop 235.00-250.00, mostly 235.00-240.00.
Fair to Good quality old crop 160.00-185.00 in large square bales.
Grass Hay Central Oklahoma:
Old crop Bermuda grass 4 X 5 bales 30.00-45.00 per bale. Prairie hay 25.00-
40.00 per bale 4 X 5 bales, mostly 30.00. Small square bales mixed grass Good
quality 5.00-6.00 per bale. New crop wheat hay 90.00-110.00 per ton, mostly
100.00 per ton.
Western Oklahoma: Good old crop Bermuda grass 80.00-100.00 per ton. New crop
wheat hay 110.00-125.00 per ton.
Eastern Oklahoma: Good new crop mixed grass hay in 4 X 5 bales 30.00-40.00 per
bale. Good old crop mixed grass hay 4 X 5 bales 25.00-35.00 per bale mostly
30.00. 5 X 6 bales 30.00-50.00 per bale.
