OKLAHOMA HAY MARKET REPORT
Alfalfa trade slow early, moderate at end of the week. Movement mostly moderate
turning fairly active late. More rainfall delayed haying and wheat harvest
again this week. Some second cutting alfalfa now too mature for Premium and
Supreme quality but yields are excellent in most areas. Demand good for dairy
quality hay, mostly moderate for other offerings. The additional rain has
definitely limited demand in some areas and placed pressure on markets. Grass
hay demand light to moderate on very limited offerings.
Market News continues to maintain an online hay directory for both in-state
and out-of-state hay producers. The directories are on the ODAFF homepage at
www.oda.state.ok.us. Producers wishing to list hay are encouraged...
