OKLAHOMA CITY, OK Thu Jul 10, 2014 Oklahoma Dept. of Ag Market News
OKLAHOMA HAY MARKET REPORT
Alfalfa trade moderate in most areas, improved over recent weeks. Demand good
for dairy hay, moderate for other offerings. Supplies of dairy hay mostly
light. Supplies of Fair to Good quality alfalfa moderate to fairly heavy. A
sizable amount of rain damaged an overly mature hay being offered. Grass hay
cutting and baling activities began this week and widespread rains on Tuesday
found a lot of acres of grass in windrows. Both yields and quality appear to be
good. Demand for grass hay moderate in central and eastern counties, mostly
good in western counties.
Market News continues to maintain an online hay directory for both in-state
and out-of-state hay producers. The directories are on the ODAFF homepage at
www.oda.state.ok.us. Producers wishing to list hay are encouraged...
