OKLAHOMA HAY MARKET REPORT
Alfalfa trade slow to moderate this week as demand dropped off for most
offerings. Demand for dairy hay remains fairly good but grinding hay demand
very light. Much of this week's offerings consisted of rain damaged or very
mature alfalfa. Second cutting mostly wrapped up this week and some third
cutting began in western and north central counties. Yields were variable but
mostly very good. Grass hay demand light to moderate with moderate to heavy
supplies offered. This week's cool front along with additional widespread
rainfall also helped slow hay movement but will improve hay and pasture
Market News continues to maintain an online hay directory for both in-state
and out-of-state hay producers. The directories are on the ODAFF homepage at
www.oda.state.ok.us. Producers wishing to list hay are encouraged...
