Pacific Northwest Market Summary: Feed ingredient offers ended the reporting week on
Tuesday, March 5, mixed, compared to last week's offers. Corn, soybean meal, canola
meal and meat and bone meal offers trended higher, while distillers dried grains offers
trended steady to higher. Offers for whole cottonseed trended steady to lower. Barley
offers were mixed. Offers for wheat millrun, suncured alfalfa pellets and oats trended
steady.
Oilseed Meal Markets: Offers for 47 percent protein Soybean Meal, for nearby rail
delivery, were 474.90-486.90, 20 cents to 7.20 per ton higher than last week's offers.
Soybean meal basis offers were 39.00 to 51.00 per ton over the May soybean meal futures
of 435.90. Week ago soybean meal basis offers were 40.00 to 59.00 per ton over the
March soybean meal futures of 427.70. Offers for soybean meal truck delivered to the
Willamette Valley were 499.90-501.90, 20 cents to 3.20 per ton higher than week ago
offers. Offers for nearby rail delivered Canola Meal, 34 to 36 percent protein, were
366.90-369.00, 7.00 to 11.20 per ton higher than week ago offers. Truck delivered
canola meal offers, 34 to 36 percent protein, were 381.90-384.00, also 7.00 to 11.20 per
ton higher than week ago offers.
Whole Cottonseed: Whole Cottonseed offers for delivery to points in the Pacific
Northwest from the Midsouth in single boxcars were 370.00-380.00 per ton, steady to 5.00
lower compared to week ago offers. Offers for whole cottonseed trans-loaded onto trucks
and delivered to Willamette Valley dairies were 385.00-395.00 per ton, also steady to
5.00 lower compared to week ago offers.
Animal Proteins: Offers for 46 to 50 percent protein Meat and Bone Meal, FOB Seattle
plants, were 375.00, 10.00 higher than last week's offers. Offers for meat and bone
meal truck delivered to Portland and the Willamette Valley were 435.00-485.00, 10.00 to
21.00 higher than last week's offers.
Wheat Millrun: Feed mill offers for Wheat Millrun for nearby delivery, loaded truck
FOB the flour mill in Portland, had limited offers at 240.00, steady compared to week
ago offers. Offers for wheat millrun truck delivered to the Willamette Valley were also
steady with week ago offers at 252.00. Flour mill offers for wheat millrun rail
delivered to Portland on the Burlington Northern Line from eastern Washington and
eastern Oregon for March delivery offers were 225.00, steady with week ago offers for
the same delivery period. Offers for April through June were 215.00, steady with last
week's offers. Offers for wheat millrun FOB eastern Oregon and eastern Washington for
March through September delivery were 185.00, 5.00 lower compared to week ago offers for
the same delivery period.
Alfalfa Products: Offers for Suncured Alfalfa Pellets, 15 percent protein, delivered
by truck to the Willamette Valley were 319.00, steady with week ago offers.
Distillers Dried Grains: Offers for Distillers Dried Grains delivered by rail to
feed mills in the Pacific Northwest were 318.00, steady to 9.00 higher compared to week
ago offers. Offers for distillers dried grains trans-loaded onto trucks and delivered
to Willamette Valley dairies were 333.00-336.00, 3.00 to 6.00 higher compared to week
ago offers.
Coarse Feeding Grains: Offers for US 2 Barley for nearby delivery to Portland in
single rail cars for domestic use were 285.00-289.00, mixed, from 6.00 lower to 2.00
higher compared to week ago offers. Offers for US 2 Barley truck delivered to the
Willamette Valley were 292.00-296.00, 4.00 to 7.00 lower than week ago offers. US 2
Yellow Corn offers for rail delivery to points north of Seattle were 304.75-307.25, 4.25
to 5.75 per ton higher than week ago offers. Offers for US 2 Yellow Corn rail delivered
to points in the Seattle area were 302.25-303.50, 4.50 to 5.25 per ton higher compared
to last week's offers. Offers for US 2 Yellow Corn rail delivered to Portland were 3.50
to 3.75 per ton higher, from 299.75-302.50. Offers for US 2 Yellow Corn truck delivered
to the Willamette Valley were 317.50-318.00 per ton, 2.00 to 6.50 per ton higher than
last week's offers. US 2 Yellow Corn offers for truck delivery to the Yakima Valley
were 7.00 to 9.75 per ton higher than week ago offers at 302.50-307.75. Chicago May
corn futures closed at 7.09, 14.25 cents higher than last week's May corn futures close
of 6.9475. Offers for US 2 Heavy White Oats truck delivered to Portland and Willamette
Valley were 270.00, steady with week ago offers.
