Pacific Northwest Market Summary: Feed ingredient offers ended the
reporting week on Tuesday August 12, mixed compared to last week's offers.
Whole cottonseed, suncured alfalfa pellets, barley, and wheat millrun offers
remained steady. Oats, soybean meal, canola meal, and distillers dried grain
offers were higher while meat and bone meal offers trended lower. Corn trended
mixed depending on location.
Oilseed Meal Markets: Offers for 47 percent protein Soybean Meal, for
nearby rail delivery, were 18.00 to 26.00 higher, from 490.20-472.20. Offers
for soybean meal truck delivered to the Willamette Valley were 18.00 higher,
from 505.20-507.20. Offers for nearby rail delivered Canola Meal, 34 to 36
percent protein, were 9.80 to 13.20 higher, from 305.00-313.20. Truck
delivered canola meal offers, 34 to 36 percent protein, were also 9.80-13.20
higher, from 320.00-328.20.
Whole Cottonseed: Whole Cottonseed offers for delivery to points in the
Pacific Northwest from the Midsouth in single boxcars were steady, at 465.00-
475.00. Offers for whole cottonseed trans-loaded onto trucks and delivered to
Willamette Valley dairies were also steady, from 480.00-495.00.
Animal Proteins: Offers for 46 to 50 percent protein ruminant Meat and Bone
Meal, FOB Seattle plants, were steady to 10.00 lower, from 425.00-500.00.
Offers for ruminant meat and bone meal truck delivered to Portland and the
Willamette Valley were also steady to 10.00 lower, from 460.00-520.00.
Wheat Millrun: Feed mill offers for Wheat Millrun for nearby delivery,
loaded truck FOB the flour mill in Portland were steady, with limited offers at
175.00. Offers for wheat millrun truck delivered to the Willamette Valley were
also steady, at 187.00. Flour mill offers for wheat millrun rail delivered to
Portland on the Burlington Northern Line from eastern Washington and eastern
Oregon for August through September delivery were not available, and offers for
October through December delivery were 15.00 higher, at 175.00. Offers for
wheat millrun FOB eastern Oregon and eastern Washington for August through
December delivery were steady, at 140.00.
Alfalfa Products: Offers for Suncured Alfalfa Pellets, 15 percent protein,
delivered by truck to the Willamette Valley were steady, at 340.00.
Distillers Dried Grains: Offers for Distillers Dried Grains delivered in
August by rail to feed mills in the Pacific Northwest were 2.00 to 5.00 higher,
from 163.00-172.00. Offers for distillers dried grains trans-loaded onto
trucks and delivered during August to Willamette Valley dairies were 2.00 to
5.00 higher, from 181.00-187.00.
Coarse Feeding Grains: Offers for US 2 Barley for nearby delivery to
Portland in single rail cars for domestic use were steady, from 190.00-200.00.
Offers for US 2 Barley truck delivered to the Willamette Valley were steady,
from 195.00-215.00. US 2 Yellow Corn offers for rail delivery to points north
of Seattle were 0.75 to 1.00 higher, from 192.00-193.50. Offers for US 2
Yellow Corn rail delivered to points in the Seattle area were 0.75 higher, from
189.50-189.75. Offers for US 2 Yellow Corn rail delivered to Portland were
0.75 higher, from 187.00-188.75. Offers for US 2 Yellow Corn truck delivered
to the Willamette Valley were 0.50 to 3.50 higher, from 206.25-207.00. US 2
Yellow Corn offers for truck delivery to the Yakima Valley were mixed from 1.25
lower to 0.75 higher with the price ranging from 187.00-188.00. Chicago
September corn futures closed at 3.5850, 2.25 cents higher than last week's
corn futures close of 3.5625. Offers for US 2 Heavy White Oats truck delivered
to Portland and Willamette Valley were 5.00 higher, from 285.00-290.00.
