Washington-Oregon (Columbia Basin) Weekly Hay Report
Tons: 7635 Last Week: 1765 Last Year: 3250
Compared to last week, Alfalfa for export was weak in a light test. Some
dairy interests in the NW are walking away from previously contracted hay
supplies and letting producers resell their stacks, putting pressure on the
market. Trade remains slow on old crop Alfalfa as most interests wait for new
crop supplies. Demand remains light to moderate with best demand for 2-3 tie
small bales. Retail/Feedstore steady. Trade very slow with continued light
supplies being held in firm hands. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB
unless otherwise stated.
