Washington-Oregon (Columbia Basin) Weekly Hay Report
Tons: 360 Last Week: 7635 Last Year: 11,940
Compared to last week, not enough Alfalfa for export and domestic use
reported this week for accurate trends as most interests awaiting new crop
supplies. Trade remains slow on old crop. Demand remains light to moderate
with best demand for 2-3 tie small bales. Dairies remain cautious as local
milk processors starting June 1, 2012 will stop receiving any milk surplus
over a producer’s quota. Retail/Feedstore steady. Trade very slow with
continued light supplies being held in firm hands. All prices are dollars per
ton and FOB unless otherwise stated.
