Washington-Oregon (Columbia Basin) Weekly Hay Report

Tons:  32,205    Last Week:  2909    Last Year:  1390

Compared to last week: Alfalfa prices had a larger spread with the

higher end at 5.00-10.00 per ton higher than last week. Orchard Grass

prices held steady and Timothy Grass has no comparison from last week.

Trade was moderate with many producers harvesting the new crop, getting

it tested and marketed for sale.  Demand remains strong and nice weather

has helped both producers and buyers alike. Some sellers are holding onto

their production in anticipation of higher prices and some buyers are

holding out on their purchases in hopes of seeing prices decline.  All

prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise stated.
