Weekly East River South Dakota Hay Market
All prices per ton, unless noted, FOB the stack.
Compared to last week, all classes remain mostly steady. Very good demand for all qualities
of hay. Producers are reporting to have continued good interest in their hay supplies.
The margin between high quality alfalfa and grinding quality is narrowing, with end users
appearing to be more conscious as to price instead of quality. Hay supplies continue to be
tight. Several producers are sold out for the year or are down to just a few loads left to sell.
