Compared to last week: Very little reported trade this week, all
classes of hay steady. Demand remains very good for high testing hay
for dairies, moderate for lower quality alfalfa. Mostly dry weather this
week, some areas got a rain they didn’t need as they had hay down, but
the rest of the area has seen very good conditions to put up high quality
hay. All hay and straw sold by the ton FOB, unless otherwise noted.
Alfalfa: Premium: Large Squares, 190.00 Del to the dairy.
Sun-cured Alfalfa pellets: 15 pct 225.00; 17 pct 235.00. Alfalfa Meal: 17
Alfalfa/Grass Mix: Good: Large Rounds, 120.00 in NE SD.
Grass: Premium: Large Rounds, 120.00. Good: Large Rounds, 100.00.
Fair: Large Rounds, 85.00 in NE SD.
Millet Hay: Good: Large Rounds, 95.00.
