Increases were reported for Japan (82,100 MT), the Dominican Republic (19,800 MT, including 6,700 MT switched from Panama), Mexico (14,000 MT), Taiwan (12,800 MT), Venezuela (11,200 MT), and Jamaica (9,000 MT). Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (9,200 MT) and Panama (6,700 MT). Net sales of 134,100 MT for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for unknown destinations (54,200 MT), Nigeria (50,000 MT), and Taiwan (18,400 MT). Exports of 490,800 MT were up 76 percent from the previous week and 20 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Japan (125,600 MT), Nigeria (115,400 MT), China (61,700 MT), Taiwan (48,900 MT), Mexico (35,400 MT), and the Philippines (22,600 MT).
Corn: Net sales of 1,850,800 MT--a marketing-year high--for delivery in 2009/10 were up 51 percent from the previous week and 46 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Japan (672,400 MT), unknown destinations (240,100 MT), South Korea (168,900 MT), Mexico (131,600 MT), Egypt (117,500 MT), China (115,000 MT), Taiwan (110,400 MT, including 57,900 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Colombia (106,500 MT). Decreases were reported for Jamaica (6,500 MT), El Salvador (3,300 MT), and the Dominican Republic (3,000 MT). Net sales of 30,400 MT for delivery in 2010/11 were for unknown destinations (25,400 MT) and Japan (5,000 MT). Exports of 855,400 MT were down 6 percent from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Mexico (276,000 MT), South Korea (171,300 MT), Taiwan (127,300 MT), Japan (70,200 MT), Syria (43,700 MT), and Egypt (37,700 MT).
Barley: There were no sales reported during the week. Exports of 900 MT were to Canada.
Sorghum: Net sales of 35,700 MT were reported for Mexico (32,700 MT) and Japan (7,300 MT, including 4,300 MT switched from unknown destinations. Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (4,300 MT). Exports of 50,700 MT were mainly to Mexico (46,300 MT) and Japan (4,300 MT).
Rice: Net sales of 69,800 MT were down 26 percent from the previous week, but up 34 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Honduras (18,500 MT), Mexico (17,600 MT), Nigeria (7,500 MT), Algeria (6,600 MT), Haiti (4,400 MT), and Ghana (4,000 MT). Exports of 75,800 MT were down 55 percent from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Turkey (22,500 MT), Japan (13,500 MT), Guatemala (9,900 MT), Nicaragua (9,600 MT), Mexico (6,400 MT), and Canada (4,600 MT).
Soybeans: Net sales of 283,200 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were up noticeably from the previous week and 47 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases reported for China (180,000 MT), Mexico (79,700 MT), South Korea (57,700 MT, including 55,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (51,700 MT, including 47,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 5,900 MT), and Germany (31,000 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (132,000 MT). Net sales of 209,100 MT for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for China (168,000 MT). Exports of 289,400 MT were up 4 percent from the previous week, but down 27 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Mexico (104,600 MT), South Korea (57,700 MT), Japan (49,600 MT), Germany (31,000 MT), and Colombia (9,500 MT).
Soybean Cake and Meal: Net sales of 137,800 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were up noticeably from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases reported for Vietnam (49,300 MT, including 45,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), the Philippines (28,700 MT), Australia (26,000 MT), and Peru (15,000 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (21,600 MT) and Ireland (2,700 MT). Net sales of 300 MT for delivery in 2010/11 were for Canada. Exports of 210,100 MT were up 51 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Vietnam (51,500 MT), the Philippines (33,000 MT), Japan (23,000 MT), Canada (19,700 MT), Ireland (15,400 MT), and Guatemala (15,000 MT).
Soybean Oil: Net sales of 10,300 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Jamaica (4,000 MT), Mexico (2,700 MT), and Canada (2,600 MT). Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (800 MT). There were no sales reported for delivery in 2010/11. Exports of 2,900 MT were down 53 percent from the previous week and 87 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Mexico (1,800 MT), Canada (900 MT), and Trinidad (100 MT).
Cotton: Net Upland sales of 165,800 running bales for delivery in 2009/10 were down 4 percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Turkey (58,600 RB), Pakistan (26,100 RB), China (18,500 RB), Bangladesh (15,000 RB), and Thailand (11,400 RB, including 300 RB switched from Japan). Decreases were reported for South Korea (900 RB) and Guatemala (200 RB). Net sales of 109,400 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for unknown destinations (50,000 RB), Guatemala (22,200 RB), and El Salvador (18,000 RB). Exports of 221,900 RB were down 19 percent from the previous week and 20 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (55,100 RB), Turkey (49,600 RB), Mexico (25,000 RB), Thailand (14,400 RB), Bangladesh (13,400 RB), and Indonesia (10,700 RB). Net American Pima sales of 3,400 RB were up 3 percent from the previous week and 29 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Pakistan (2,400 RB), Indonesia (500 RB), and Italy (400 RB). Decreases were reported for Japan (100 RB). Net sales of 6,600 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were for South Korea. Exports of 4,300 RB were down 57 percent from the previous week and 62 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were India (1,500 RB), Japan (900 RB), Indonesia (600 RB), and China (500 RB).
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 423,400 pieces were reported for delivery in 2010, down 2 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 423,600 pieces were mainly for China (143,900 pieces), South Korea (135,700 pieces), Taiwan (76,100 pieces), Hong Kong (26,500 pieces), and Mexico (15,100 pieces). Exports of 418,700 pieces were down 12 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 414,600 pieces were primarily to China (186,200 pieces), South Korea (77,200 pieces), Taiwan (54,400 pieces), Thailand (26,400 pieces), Mexico (18,600 pieces), and Vietnam (17,300 pieces).
Net sales of 103,400 wet blues for delivery in 2010 were down 39 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (76,300 unsplit), Mexico (17,600 grain splits), Hong Kong (4,800 unsplit), and Thailand (2,800 unsplit). Decreases were reported for Taiwan (2,400 unsplit), Italy (500 grain splits), and Japan (400 grain splits). Exports of 125,100 hides were primarily for China (39,700 unsplit), Mexico (20,500 grain splits and 3,200 unsplit), Italy (15,800 unsplit and 1,200 grain splits), and Taiwan (8,900 unsplit). Net sales of splits totaling 356,500 pounds were reported mainly for Italy (267,100 pounds) and Hong Kong (44,300 pounds). Exports of 553,700 pounds were for China (424,900 pounds), Italy (84,500 pounds), and Hong Kong (44,300 pounds).
Beef: Net sales of 13,300 MT were down 26 percent from the previous week and 8 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Mexico (3,400 MT), Japan (2,800 MT), South Korea (2,100 MT), Canada (1,700 MT), and the Netherlands (1,300 MT). Exports of 11,000 MT were primarily for Mexico (2,700 MT), South Korea (2,000 MT), Canada (1,400 MT), Japan (1,300 MT), and Vietnam (1,300 MT).
