BVD risk management tool

Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) poses at least some threat to most cattle operations at every production stage, especially when unidentified persistently infected animals spread the virus within herds or across fence lines. The level of risk can vary considerably between operations however, influencing decisions on the most cost-effective control strategies. Kansas State University specialists have developed an on-line tool to help producers assess their risk, and plan cost-effective measures to prevent and control the disease. The tool, sponsored by the NCBA BVD Working Group and the Academy of Veterinary Consultants BVD Committee. The short survey asks the user questions about their management, imported cattle and neighboring herds, then calculates their risk level. Access the tool.
