Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) poses at least some threat to most cattle operations at every production stage, especially when unidentified persistently infected animals spread the virus within herds or across fence lines. The level of risk can vary considerably between operations however, influencing decisions on the most cost-effective control strategies.
